Transition
>
Our aim is to ensure that the move from Primary to Secondary education is seamless. Throughout the course of Key Stage 2, students visit the college for a range of events, familiarising themselves with key members of staff such as the Transition Coordinator, Sian White, and with the routines of college life.
We have developed excellent links with the local Primary Schools, regularly visiting staff and students. Through our Parent’s Forums, we also speak to Year 5 and Year 6 parents in the Primary School itself about the process and allay any concerns that they may have.
Our annual Open Evening in October is a real opportunity for students and parents alike to get a feel for the college and meet the teaching staff.
Throughout the course of your child’s first term, Sian White and her team of experienced, specialist Tutors will ensure that any worries or concerns, however small, are eliminated.
New students to our college develop a sense of belonging very quickly. This enables them to feel safe and secure in lessons, around the college and during the host of extra curricular activities that are on offer.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of the Transition process, please do not hesitate to contact me through this site, or by telephoning the college. I look forward to hearing from you.
