Science - Introduction

(Click here for the latest "Science" information)

Welcome to the science faculty section of the website.  Well, now you’re here you’re probably wandering what the science faculty has to offer or what you can find on this section of the website.

In terms of what we’ve got to offer, the science faculty has excellent teaching staff who genuinely care about the progress of their students.  Results are amongst the best in the college and continue to improve year on year.  Furthermore, students studying science leave lessons having had memorable, enjoyable learning experiences due to the interactive nature of lessons where students undertake experiments and a wide variety of enjoyable, innovative learning tasks.

The information that you can find on this website is varied.  Many of the homework tasks set during lessons can be found on this site (meaning that if you lose it, you don’t have an excuse!!).  We’ve also placed some of the power points we use during lessons on the site which should aid your revision for major exams and tests.  We’ve also thought it would be a good idea to provide you with links to other interesting websites so you can look at exam specifications, past papers, revision aids or science quizzes.

If you have any further queries regarding science, then ask your science teachers who will be more than happy to respond to your requests.

Thanks Mr. Cruickshank (Director of Learning – Science faculty)

KS2 Assessment Website

Tonypandy Cluster is very proud to launch its new KS2 Assessment website. This project is the result of a lot of hard work by all the Primary Schools in the Tonypandy Cluster and Tonypandy Community College. Working together, staff have agreed a benchmark for assessment levels across the core subjects, including Welsh, and standardised the assessment process across the cluster. This means that standards for all students will be improved; learning and teaching has been developed through the sharing of good practice; and the Tonypandy Cluster is now stronger than ever with partnership and collaborative working. The Headteachers of the Tonypandy Cluster would like to thank all their staff for their hard work and resilience in bringing this project to fruition.
