Year 12 & 13 OCR Nationals Level 3 – Students will be required to submit both unit 1 and 2 completed by January 5th.
Students need to check the WIKI space as all work sheets required for both units will have been uploaded.

ICT
There are 4 discreet ICT suites in the college, as well as additional rooms located within other subject areas. We have a ratio of 1:3 student to computers.
All students study ICT at Keys stage 3 for one lesson a week and can then opt for ICT in Year 10.
Students use a variety of software, including the MS Office, website Dreamweaver, MovieMaker, Audacity, Internet Explorer. Students have access to a variety of ICT hardware such as Scanners, Digital Cameras, Video Cameras, PDA’s and microphones allowing them to create ICT work which is unique and up to date.
As well as attending ICT lessons, students can attend after school sessions where they can practise using the equipment in smaller groups
The Courses available are:
OCR NATIONALS ICT LEVEL 2:
Students are following the OCR Nationals Level 2 ICT. The course requires that Students complete 6 units to achieve 4 GCSE’s Units covered are Unit 1: ICT in Business, Unit 2: Website Design, Unit 5: Desktop Publishing, Unit 6: Spreadsheet Design, Unit 7: Database Creation, Unit 23: Video Creation.
The first unit is compulsory, designed to cover all the main areas of ICT use within a business, spreadsheets, word processing, desktop publishing and searching the Internet. The additional units have been selected to allow students the opportunity to gain an insight into creating movies, podcasts and the electronic organisation of data.
Students following this course have the opportunity to achieve up to 4 GCSE’s.
OCR NATIONAL LEVEL 3:
When students reach Level 3, they continue to develop their work-related skills and knowledge, but now progress to more advanced topics – such as strategic management, customer service and marketing.
The amount of detail increases, as students take a more in-depth look at the business world, and gain an excellent all-round understanding of the challenges and rewards it offers.
