| Brief outline of subject:
During this course students will explore a wide range of digital photographic techniques. Students will develop their creative skills through ICT Adobe Photoshop programmes to develop skills to include portrait and documentary photography as well as technical use of camera and computers.
Students will have the option to take Photography as a GCSE or a BTEC course. Students will either; complete two units of coursework and one externally set examination (GCSE) or; complete three units of coursework (BTEC). |
| Examples of topics covered: Portrait, location, landscape, close-up, studio and documentary photography. |
| Assessment: For GCSE Photography one unit of coursework and the externally set exam unit are marked. BTEC students will submit a portfolio which consists of 3 units of work to be marked. |

| Possible Career progression: Students can progress onto the A/S Art and Design to complete an endorsed Photography A/S course post 16.
Possible career progression includes portrait photography, wedding photography, documentary news photography, forensic photography, fashion photography, graphics, film, photography, animation, storyboarding and teaching. |
