Strengthening Families
Early in July 2009 parents and students were informed of a exciting new programme scheduled for the autumn term.
This week the College is launching this initiative to strengthen the links between the College and students’ families. This programme is designed to help families learn to work together to support their child’s learning. This scheme is initially aimed at parents and students from the current Key Stage 3 group.
During the school day participating students will take part in activities designed to increase their confidence raise their self esteem and improve their life skills. Parents who are taking part will attend a two hour session on one evening each week for the next 7 weeks. Each session will be centred around informal conversation and information sharing, led by trained staff from the College. At the end of the programme parents and students will plan and enjoy a social event together.
